With myFrequency the determination of cable forces will be a breeze. Whether open or closed wire ropes or rope-like elements, such as rectangular hangers of bridges; with your smartphone you can calculate the forces acting on the rope-like elements from the measured vibrations.

Measure the vibrations of the rope, select the first natural frequency in the frequency spectrum and enter the following parameters to calculate the froces:

  • length of cable [m]
  • Young's modulus [N/mm²]
  • diameter [m] and fill-factor f [-] in case of round wires
  • width [m] and height [m] in case of rectangular profiles
  • density [kg/m³] of used material

The parameters can be defined in the permissions of cable producers.

In table 2.2 of Eurocode 3 - EN 1993-1-11 you will find indications for the fill-factor f and the density (unit weight) of wires.

True to the motto CABLEFORCE 2.0 we would like to offer a solution for a fast, efficient and accurate determination of preload forces in cable elements with your smartphone. After entering a few parameters the cable force will be determined immediately form the first measured natural frequency.
